Connections of Central New York, Inc. is a not-for-profit community based agency whose mission is to provide quality personalized support to people with developmental disabilities. Relationship building is an essential element in the development of support. Support offered is determined in partnership with the individual, the family, and other significant people in his or her life and is provided through innovative and creative program design.

Connections holds the value that personalized supports begin with the person and not a program. Each person's dreams and life aspirations are identified, discussed, and appreciated before any services begin. By using creative and innovative strategies, life supports and services are centered on the person and not the agency. Individuals are not “placed” into a pre-determined “slot”. Rather, services and supports are developed exclusively around the person. The result is a unique coordination of supports distinctively for that person. Since services are only for one person rather than a group, supports are easily modified and altered when an individual’s needs changes. Each person's supports will look different and each person's services will expand out of his/her own personal story.
